Installation FAQs

The FireGator HHD System is designed for straightforward installation using basic tools. Most components mount with self-tapping screws and Deutsch connectors, ensuring a secure fit. A trained technician or fleet mechanic can typically complete the installation in a few hours.

Generators are mounted inside the engine compartment, positioned at a 30-degree angle toward the engine. One is usually mounted near the fender, and the other near the radiator base, ensuring full coverage on both sides of the engine. Placement instructions and safety guidelines are included in the installation manual.

Yes. The HHD system requires a constant 12V DC power connection, usually to the battery, solenoid, or a fused panel connection. Power draw is minimal—only about 20 milliamperes—so there is no concern of draining the battery.

Operation FAQs

Before every trip, check the green LED on the control panel. If the green light is illuminated, the system is armed. If it is off, or if the red light flashes or the horn sounds, stop operation and report it for inspection.

If abnormal heat is detected, the system will trigger an early warning with lights and horn alerts. If temperatures continue to rise, the suppression generators will automatically discharge, releasing aerosol suppressant to contain the fire.

Yes. In the event of a rollover or at the driver’s discretion, the system can be activated manually. Break the red ball zip tie, remove the pull-pin, and flip the switch to the ON position. This provides immediate suppression regardless of sensor status.
